Sitra is participating in a group of projects, the purpose of which is to create an entirely electronic patient record database that would give all authorised parties access to patient health information compiled on the basis of uniform criteria.
The technology needed for a uniform patient record database exists and, under the direction of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, work is under way to establish a national body to realise the project. Sitra is also contributing to the project by creating national definitions and data system architecture in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, and to the preparation of the proposal on the national actor.
Citizen’s Health Portal
The Citizens' Health Portal project will make all essential information on protecting health, preventing diseases and treating them, and health-care and hospital services accessible easily and quickly.
The Health Care Programme co-ordinates the project in collaboration with the National Public Health Institute, Tekes - Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation, RAY and key NGOs.
