Design guidelines for low-energy houses
The project will draw up guidelines for designing and constructing low-energy houses and promotes their dissemination among professionals in the field. The guidelines will be compiled by RIL - Finnish Association of Civil Engineers. The aim of the project is to increase competence in low-energy design.   

The end result of the project is a comprehensive set of guidelines for the design, construction and maintenance of low-energy houses. The guidelines are meant for all parties taking part in construction activities. The aim is to provide practical service both to new housing projects aiming at low energy consumption and to energy-efficient design, implementation, use and maintenance of existing buildings.   

Sitra is the main financier of the project. Other participants in the project include Finnish construction companies and the compiler of the guidelines, RIL - Finnish Association of Civil Engineers. The design guidelines for low-energy houses will be published in RIL’s publication series.
