Citizens and energy efficiency
The Energy Programme encourages households and citizens to save energy. By creating opportunities and enthusiasm to implement sensible and energy-saving solutions, the programme aims to increase the demand for energy-efficient products and services. The aim is to create changes in lifestyle and operational models as well as to make energy-saving and a low-emission lifestyle attractive.

Sitra sees the challenges and risks posed by climate change as an opportunity to re-think and change a number of issues in the activities of both communities and individuals. The aim is that by the end of the Energy Programme the energy consumption of consumers will have taken a downward turn and that our activities have accelerated the introduction of energy-saving measures. 

The programme co-operates, for example, with various energy information providers and distributors as well as non-governmental organisations and municipalities. Companies and industry organisations in the field of energy efficiency are among the possible co-operation bodies. The programme also seeks best practices, means for influencing and encouragement from abroad to be utilised in Finland.
