Methods

Sitra’s Energy Programme seeks methods to improve the efficiency of energy use in communities and to promote energy saving. The Programme, for example,

  • gathers together partners to join in practical co-operation to expedite the improvement of communities' energy efficiency
  • identifies the best international practices in energy saving and promotes their implementation and distribution
  • encourages private consumers to save energy through their consumption behaviour and choices
  • co-operates with companies and other partners to develop operative models in the field and to create growing markets and successful business
  • strengthens the growth, development and internationalisation of energy businesses by making venture capital investments and finding Finnish and international financiers and key persons for Finnish enterprises.
The programme is headed by Jukka Noponen, Executive Director, with the support of his programme team. The activities are based on co-operation with partners. The programme works in close co-operation with Tekes’ Sustainable community technology programme (www.tekes.fi).
