Sitra’s Development Director, Ossi Kuittinen, is a member of the Advisory Board on the Information Society in Everyday Life, whose task is to ensure the practical execution of the National Information Society Strategy drawn up during the previous Government’s legislative term.
The board has been assigned the following tasks:
- draw up a National Information Society Strategy operational programme
- monitor and coordinate execution of the operational programme
- coordinate the various undertakings of the operational programme and ensures that they are not working at cross purposes
- maintain cooperation with other bodies shaping the development of the information society
- harmonise and coordinate data security work for the information society
- advance the development and adoption of reliable electronic recognition procedures
- advance development of the copyright system from an information society perspective
- make new initiatives to accelerate development of the national information society
- monitor development of the information society in the EU and internationally
- report annually to the Government on the execution of the operational plan
The advisory board meets 4 - 5 times a year. Its operational term is July 1, 2007 - Feb. 28, 2011.
