Emma-Leena Kemppainen

Specialist, Competitiveness through data

Who?

Emma-Leena works as Specialist in the Roadmap for a Fair Data Economy project, creating this roadmap for Finland through broad collaboration. She believes that data will help make smarter decisions for society, companies and individuals.

What?

Before joining Sitra, Emma-Leena worked in social development and communications in regional and national government, Parliament and EU institutions. She has wide range of experience in project management, social development and international communications.

Emma-Leena has a Master’s degree in Social Sciences from the University of Turku. She started her university studies at the Department of French as she finds the French language the most beautiful, French culture the most fascinating, French cuisine the most delicious and Zinedine Zidane the most legendary. But the desire to build a better society led her to political science and gave her a direction for her professional life.

What else?

In her free time, Emma-Leena likes to combine exercise and literature: she jogs in the countryside near her home while listening to audiobooks. She also enjoys travelling, theatre and yoga.
