Sitra in Paris COP21 events

  • November 30, 2015 at 5:30 pm - December 9, 2015 at 12:00 pm

Sitra, the Finnish Innovation Fund, will present during COP21 the flagship reports Green to Scale and Benefits of Carbon Neutrality in a Rapidly Changing Business Environment.

Green to Scale has been developed jointly with international partners in 10 countries and addresses the potential to scale up low-carbon solutions across borders. The report demonstrates that we already have the tools available to cut emissions – scaling up just 17 proven climate solutions could cut current global emissions by a quarter by 2030. The solutions assessed in the report range from industrial energy efficiency in China and cutting food waste in Denmark, to reducing deforestation in Brazil and using bioenergy for heating in Finland. The results of the project can help countries to meet, improve and go beyond their national climate commitments, and the same time lead to better health, more jobs and improved energy access. The report Benefits of Carbon Neutrality in a Rapidly Changing Business Environment provides an extensive foresight analysis of global cleantech markets by 2050. The key megatrends identified include climate change, the future of energy, smart is the new green, the future of mobility, urbanisation and the future of infrastructure. The common denominator between these megatrends are smart cities. Identifying key megatrends and drivers of change, and analysing their dynamics and impacts is of paramount importance in order to find global climate solutions. This report also provides crucial information to companies in their quest for future sources of growth.
