Start providing home accommodation

Home and room rental services provide a safe and easy way to use extra space and offer accommodation to tourists. You can cover some of the costs of living at the same time.

Savings: As a traveller, you save money when you stay with a person renting out their home. As a host, you meet new people and get to arrange unique experiences for your guests.

Remember this: You may initially be nervous about taking a stranger into your home, but this will disappear after some good experiences. If you live in a rented home, you must have permission from the owner to provide accommodation.

Reducing your carbon footprint: Renting out a 10 m2 room for four months a year reduces your carbon footprint by 1%. If a million Finns did this, it would save the equivalent of 10,000 carbon footprints. The savings come from the material and heating costs needed to build and maintain the home when the costs of the rented space are divided among several users.
