Terhi Ylikoski

Terhi works in Sitra’s foresight team, developing methods for exploring, imagining and making sense of possible futures. She is particularly interested in how foresight can move beyond reports and become part of how people think and act.

In her work, Terhi experiments with new approaches to foresight, from weak signals, scenarios and experiential foresight to the possibilities offered by AI. She wants to make futures thinking more accessible and broaden the range of people who have the opportunity to take part in conversations about the future.

Before joining Sitra, Terhi spent around two decades working on sustainable development and societal change in civil society organisations and at the United Nations. Among other things, she helped initiate foresight work within Finland’s civil society sector. She holds master’s degrees in intercultural communication and service design.
