Data and AI in strategic decision-making in the public sector, second funding call
Sitra is launching a second funding call for all public sector actors to support solutions that significantly advance the use of data and artificial intelligence in strategic decision-making to improve productivity. The call is open until 6 August 2025 at 12:00 noon (UTC+3).
Summary of the funding call
Sitra supports the development of Finland’s public sector into a forerunner in the use of data and artificial intelligence (AI). Sitra is reopening a funding call designed to accelerate the use of data and artificial intelligence in strategic decision-making within the public sector.
Through the funding call Data and Artificial Intelligence in Strategic Decision-Making in the Public Sector, Sitra aims to support significant improvements in productivity, information management and the use of data in the public sector at local, regional and central government levels.
We are seeking concrete solutions that can enhance productivity by leveraging data in strategic decision-making. Strategic decision-making refers to decisions that significantly steer an organisation’s operations and/or resource use. In this funding call, we are particularly looking for solutions that support strategic foresight, risk management and scenario work at the leadership level.
A solution could:
- increase productivity for example by helping to anticipate the need for resource allocation and reallocation
- assist in identifying and managing risks associated with the operating environment and models
- include new ways to analyse and visualise scenario data that supports decision-making, methods for producing and using data, or processes for modelling productivity development.
Funding can also be applied for the implementation of existing solutions, where the novelty value of the project relates to changes in practices and leadership.
