Become a forest owner for 100 euros

Finland’s old-growth forests – forests that are in a natural or nearly natural state – are becoming rare. They account for just 5% of Finland’s forest area, and only half of that is protected while the other half is threatened by logging. Old-growth forests are carbon sinks and our shared heritage – and something that anyone can protect.

Savings: Investing 100 euros in the Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation’s old-growth forest protection campaign is a one-off investment.

Reducing your carbon footprint: Investing 100 euros in protecting old-growth forest once a year compensates your carbon footprint by an amazing 115% per year. Emissions are lower because old-growth forests that serve as carbon sinks are left standing.
