Kai Mykkänen

Minister of the Interior, Finland

Kai Mykkänen was appointed Finland’s Minister of the Interior on 12th of February 2018.  He previously served as Finland’s Minister for Foreign Trade and Development since June 2016. Minister Mykkänen has been a Member of Parliament (National Coalition Party) since 2015, focusing and gaining responsibility within the parliamentary group on energy policies, Russia relations, immigration policies, and labor policies.

Minister Mykkänen holds Master’s Degree in Economics from University of Helsinki. Before becoming a parliamentarian, he had worked as a special advisor to the Minister for Economic Affairs and Employment Jyri Häkämies (2011-2012) and for the Confederation of Finnish Industries (EK) as an executive on Russia affairs.
