Sitra’s Landmarks Barometer monitors the relationship of the Finns to the countryside – the countryside boosts Finns and businesses

The barometer developed for Sitra’s Landmarks Programme confirms the opinion that emerged during the programme's preparation stage: Finns consider the countryside to be a special resource.

153 municipalities and 24 municipal federations interested in national service centres

A total of 153 municipalities and 24 municipal federations have joined the negotiations on two national service centres specialising in information technology, financial administration and human resources management. The negotiations were launched by Sitra, the Finnish Innovation Fund.

Helsinki – World Design Capital 2012

Helsinki has been chosen as World Design Capital 2012. The appointment is conferred biennially by the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (Icsid) to a city that uses design in an innovative way. The criteria for the award is the use of design to improve the social, cultural and economic life of a city.
