Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) is a leading not-for-profit organisation that develops sustainability reporting standards. It plays a pivotal role in scaling up transparency in disclosing non-financial information, with at least 4,000 organisations using the GRI Standards annually. GRI is revising its Waste Standard with the aim of introducing circular economy principles. The revised Waste Standard will help organisations better understand what causes their waste-related impacts and how waste generation can be prevented at source, giving them the basis for reporting and helping improve their waste management.
