The Nordic Council of Ministers

The Nordic Council of Ministers is the inter-governmental body for co-operation in the Nordic region. Several recent projects by the Nordic Council of Ministers support the move towards a circular economy. This is done mainly by highlighting good practice, promoting innovative business models and bringing together people from different corners of the economy to share experience and explore new solutions.

At the WCEF, the Nordic Council of Ministers will present the most recent joint circular economy initiatives in the Nordic region. Come to the Nordic lounge to network with our Nordic experts on business opportunities in recycled and recyclable textiles, on waste recycling solutions in the building and construction sector, or on circularity as a branding parameter in the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. There will also be opportunities to see cool innovations around fish and marine resources to discover industrial symbiosis, or to just learn more about the Nordic co-operation. Tuesday 6 June

8.30-9.00	Morning talk: Sustainable Value-Creation from the sea – how and why? Experiences from Iceland See the coolest innovations around fish and marine resources, learn about the benefits for companies and societies, and find out which policies and infrastructure are needed for true blue growth.
10.30-11.00	Can we Turn the (Heavy) Industries Circular? Experiences from the Nordic Industrial Symbiosis Network This is your chance to join the new Nordic Industrial Symbiosis Network! See the potentials of industrial symbiosis – resource savings, innovations around side/waste streams etc., learn how to create symbiosis and motivate companies, and how Nordic collaboration can spur development.
