Fast trials facilitate the transition to business for sustainable everyday life

Challenge

Large companies sometimes lack the agility to test new solutions and to identify suitable, innovative development partners among small enterprises. Small enterprises, on the other hand, have trouble finding and reaching a large customer base that can give the feedback they need for designing solutions for international markets.

Solution

Business Finland and Sitra are collaborating to implement fast pilot projects, where small companies get a chance to test their sustainable everyday solutions on the consumer market in partnership with a large company. With the help of fast trials and service design, it is possible to identify customers, partnerships and distribution channels for the parties involved in the trial. During the trials, it is also possible for the companies involved to receive business-to-business advice from other companies carrying out similar trials.

The trials will assist companies in their internationalisation efforts. Business Finland’s TEMPO and other de minimis funding instruments for companies can be used for fast trials, in cases where the enterprises involved meet TEMPO’s funding criteria.
