The change towards a circular economy is not only a wise move for well-being and competitiveness, but also essential for a sustainable future. The circular economy provides solutions to the biggest challenges we are facing – overconsumption of natural resources, climate change and biodiversity loss.

But how do you make the transition to a circular economy? Where do you start, what do you aim for and how do you know if you are there?

Finland’s answer was to create a national road map to a circular economy, the first country in the world to do so.

A circular economy road map is a tool for change: it helps define the required steps and compiles key stakeholders’ views on the essential changes and actions required for the circular transformation.

We invite you to discuss the role of national circular economy road maps in the global transition towards a circular economy. In the webinar, we will also present a guidebook Sitra has compiled based on experiences from Finland’s road map process. The guidebook includes best practices and tips for those devising their own road maps to a circular economy.

We hope to foster dialogue around how national circular economy road maps can accelerate a transition to a circular economy.

The event is an official WCEFonline side event organised by the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra.
