Nordic Innovation Centre is launching Environmental Technology as a new focus area
This Nordic initiative puts obstacles to innovation and export of Nordic environmental technology in focus. There is a need for new type of networking and clustering in the environmental technology sector at Nordic level in order to exploit the possibilities. Sitra´s Environmental Programme has participated in the planning of the initiative.
To become competitive in the global market Nordic industry needs to raise their innovation capacity and combine their know-how to be able to provide competitive integrated solution for environmental challenges globally.
In this initiative Nordic Innovation Centre is going to spend approx. NOK 10 millions (1,2 million Euros) in new constellations and cooperation platforms within Nordic Environmental Technology. Four to six projects with focus on innovation and commercialization of Nordic integrated environmental technology solutions will be financed.
Nordic Innovation Centre will in this initiative establish Nordic clusters and cooperation platforms in the Nordic environmental technology sector by investing in projects that will:
- Enhance innovation and therefore competitiveness of Nordic Industry
- Support commercialization of Nordic environmental technology
Nordic Innovation Centre invites actors, industry and industry organisations, researchers and research institutes, authorities and others in the Nordic and Baltic countries to submit project proposals.
Deadline: The call for project proposals is open to June 16, 2006.
