“Innovations for affordable healthcare – Focus on empathic India” seminar will take place on March 14, 2008. It is the third event of Sitra’s four-event series, The Essence of India, all of which will be organised during spring 2008.

Each seminar will focus on a specific topic in Finland-India cooperation. The primary objective of the seminars is to deepen the existing relations between Finland and India.

The aim is also to explore present opportunities for economic cooperation and core competence areas in Finland and India. The seminar series provides a great opportunity for the Finnish audience to learn more about India and to network with distinguished Indian experts.

The “Empathic India” seminar focuses on health care cooperation between Finland and India. A special focus is on primary health care, healthcare records and the use of telemedicine. The seminar provides a platform for learning first hand about the health care challenges of India and to introduce advantaged Finnish health care technology, processes and services.

The seminar creates a concrete and meaningful opportunity for Indian and Finnish partners to discuss and explore each others’ needs and competencies. It encourages Finnish companies in the field of health care to find new partners and business opportunities in India and vice versa.
