Anthony Cox

Deputy Director, Environment Directorate , Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)

Anthony Cox is the Deputy Director of the Environment Directorate of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Since joining the OECD in 2000, Mr Cox has led a number of teams working on water, climate, the circular economy, fisheries, the political economy of environmental policy reform, green finance and fossil fuel subsidies and has been responsible for a wide range of reports on these topicsHe also leads the OECD’s engagement in the G7 and G20 on environmental issues, notably on climate, energy and resource efficiency, and led the major project Investing in Climate, Investing in Growth for the German G20 Presidency in 2017. Prior to joining the OECD, Mr Cox worked as Senior Economist in the Australian Public Service, including positions in the Productivity Commission and the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics.
