Antti Vasara

Dr Antti Vasara has been the President and CEO of VTT Ltd since 2015. He is a non-executive director of Elisa Oyj (the largest telecommunications operator in Finland) and of the Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation. He is currently a member of the Finnish Research and Innovation Council, in addition to being the President of EARTO (European Association of Research and Technology Organisations) and a member of the High-Level Industrial Roundtable “Industry 2030” and the IPCEI Forum of the European Commission. 

Previously, he worked at companies such as Nokia, Tieto, SmartTrust and McKinsey & Company. Earlier in his career, he was a researcher in optical communications, publishing some 20-plus peer–reviewed articles and holding one international patent. Dr Vasara holds a Doctor of Science (Technology) degree from Aalto University in Finland.
