Badr Ikken is the current Director General of the Moroccan Research Institute for Solar Energy and New Energies (IRESEN). In his role at IRESEN, Mr Ikken has established the largest solar research platform in Africa – the Green Energy Park – and is developing a network of new applied research and innovation platforms, which consider issues such as energy efficiency and the water–energy nexus.
Mr Ikken is also a member of Morocco’s National Commission for Sustainable Development and the National Commission for Sustainable Mobility. In 2018, he was appointed Vice-President of the New Climate Economy Commission of the Moroccan Confederation of Enterprises.
