Denny Wong

Who

Denny Wong is the Business Designer of the Gaia-X Finland project. His main goal is to help companies to grow and boost their business through ethical data sharing and value creation – nationally and internationally using the Gaia-X principle, network, and infrastructure.

Denny has a special interest in the process of value creation and capture. His speciality is the intersection between data economy, ethics, law, and technology. He believes in failing forward and constantly learning to unlearn.

What

Denny holds two engineering degrees and an iMBA, from three countries. Before joining Sitra, he was a sales director for a large corporation in Belgium, led multiple digital transformation projects for Fortune 500 companies, and co-founded three startups.

His last startup involved building a marketplace for personal data to enable individuals to monetise their data and for companies to collect data ethically.

What else

Denny speaks six languages and is currently learning a seventh – Finnish. He has three children that keep him busy. Apart from spending time with his family, he is training to run an Olympic distance triathlon and Ironman 70.3 Finland. He also enjoys the Finnish mökki-culture and enjoys spending time at his summer cottage in Saimaa.
