Didier Gambier

Head of Department, European Commission Executive Agency EASME

Didier Gambier has devoted his career to energy research conducted in very large infrastructures.

He is the Head of Department in the European Commission’s Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME), and supervises two CIP legacy programmes on Eco-innovation and Intelligent Energy Europe. He is also responsible in the European Commission for the implementation of the LIFE programme, as well as a large portion of the research and innovation programme of H2020 in the area of environment, raw materials, eco-innovation and circular economy, climate change, and energy efficiency. Gambier is a physicist by training and has also managed international programmes for the Commission directed at the civil conversion of military scientists of the former USSR.
