Eric Pol

Eric chairs aNewGovernance, whose main objective is to accompany global shift away from State-centric data infrastructure (China…) and Platform-centric data infrastructure (Global platforms) towards a more trusted and fair data infrastructure ensuring sovereignty over data for their owner and a more level-playing field ensuring fairer competition.

This Brussels-based non-profit is active in policy-making and practical implementation of Data Sharing and Data Spaces. It collaborates with the European Commission and the European Parliament, the OECD, the World Trade Organization, ESA (The European Space Agency) or the World Economic Forum (elaboration of WEF Data Sharing Industry Code of Conduct). It also exchanges regularly with non-EU countries, including but not limited to Japan, South Korea, Canada or the UK.

It participates in the concrete roll-out of European data spaces, being an associate member of the DSSC (Data Space Support Centre) and a member of its Governance working group, and being the governance lead of the EU financed CSA for Tourism DATES. It is active in other sectors like Skills & Jobs, Space, Agriculture and Health.

With 30+ years of experience in innovation and innovation financing on three continents, Eric brings the organisation and its undertakings a concrete Think & Do approach.
