Project Director, Climate Solutions,
Janne Peljo is a leading specialist in Sitra’s Resource-wise and carbon-neutral society theme area. He supports the director of the theme area by co-ordinating its activities and various reports.
Janne specialises in identifying and interpreting megatrends related to energy and climate from the point of view of companies, investors and society. In particular, he examines the risks and opportunities posed by climate change for these target groups.
Janne holds an M.Sc in Finance from the Aalto University School of Economics and he also holds the CEMS MIM degree focusing on international business and strategy from Aalto University and HEC Paris.
Before joining Sitra, Janne worked with strategy projects on fast moving consumer goods (FMGC) and healthcare sectors, and in the banking sector.
In his free time, Janne likes to spend time with his family and friends, especially enjoying good food and French wines, which are now being threatened by climate change. He also runs the occasional marathon to maintain at least some level of fitness.
Janne believes that in 2030 people will remember parking spaces and coal-fuelled power stations in the same way they do personal doctor’s appointments or meetings with a customer advisor at the bank: as inefficient wastes of resources, for which there should very rarely be any need, if any need at all.
