Matti Vanhanen

Member, Finnish Parliament

Matti Vanhanen is an experienced Finnish politician and former Prime Minister of Finland.

Currently he is a member of the Finnish Parliament and chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Parliament. He was also Chairman of the Centre Party, and in the second half of 2006 he was President of the European Council. In his earlier career he was a journalist. He is also chairman of the Board of Directors of Sitra and the Parliamentary Supervisory Council of the Bank of Finland.
