Riikka Leppänen works as a Specialist in Sitra’s Circular economy focus area, concentrating in particular on how the transition from a linear economy to a circular economy can be carried out as quickly as possible while ensuring fairness for all. Which sectors will see new jobs emerging based on the circular economy and what kind of competence is needed for them? How do we make new circular economy services accessible to all and ensure that the resulting advantages and disadvantages are also divided fairly on a global scale?
Riikka has a background in corporate responsibility, with a particular focus on questions related to social responsibility. She has provided sustainable business consulting as a specialist at the corporate responsibility network FIBS, promoted fair global trade as the Chair of Pro Ethical Trade Finland, and participated in the founding of a start-up focused on the transparency of global supply chains. Riikka holds a Master of Science degree in Responsible Business.
Riikka is an avid commuter cyclist and Sunday runner. In her leisure time, she also reads and enjoys hiking in nearby forests.
Riikka believes that the circular economy creates sustainability, community spirit and well-being in the world. In 2030, many of us will work, consume and exert influence in the circular economy sector. Join us in the transition!
