Timo Lehesvirta is Leading Specialist on the Climate and nature solutions team. He develops solutions and steering methods for the ecological reconstruction of society and for preventing biodiversity loss. The goal is a new bioeconomy and circular economy in which land-use solutions and our actions improve the state of nature and best practices become mainstream. It is also important that our relationship with nature and each other evolves and we find solutions together.
Get in touch with Timo if you want to discuss questions related to biodiversity and ecosystem services. He has accumulated extensive experience in environmental management in the private sector, both in Finland and internationally. In encountering the phenomena of our era, he relies on his background as a biologist. Timo is interested in verifying the environmental effects of people’s actions and their links with value chains.
According to his friends, Timo has a nature gene. In his free time, Timo can be found out and about in nature, either watching birds or picking mushrooms. He also seeks out self-sufficiency experiences by fishing. In addition to nature, Timo is energised by lively discussions and joint thinking that refine ideas and one’s own understanding.
Timo is inspired by brainstorming and philosophical contemplation and loves having a good laugh. A sustainable future requires hope that leads to action that turns goals into results.
