Tsukasa Akimoto is the newly elected State Minister of the Environment of Japan.

He has served several positions such as Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Defense, the first Abe Cabinet, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Defense, the Fukuda Cabinet, Director, Committee on Rules and Administration, HOC. He has also held positions such as Acting Director, Economy, Trade and Industry Division, LDP, Deputy Chairperson, Research Committee for Promotion of Healthy Development of Youth, LDP, Director, Committee on Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, HOR, Director, Cabinet Division, LDP, Director, Committee on Cabinet, HOR, Director, Special Committee on Okinawa and Northern Problems, HOR, Director, Land, Infrastructure and Transport Division, LDP, Chairperson, Committee on Cabinet, HOR, State Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, State Minister of Cabinet Office, and State Minister for Reconstruction.
