The market value of Sitra’s investment assets was 983 million euros on 30 June 2025 (986 million euros on 31 Dec. 2024). In the first quarter, the return on investments was -0.6 per cent.

Concerns about changes in trade policy and their impact on the economy significantly increased market volatility in the early part of the year. In addition, the U.S. President’s proposed tax changes further added to the uncertainty. However, the market recovered during the summer, although exchange rates held back returns for European investors.

Sitra’s investment portfolio is diversified across geographies as well as asset classes. Nearly 30 per cent of investments are in Finland.

The long-term return target is a real return of 3.5 per cent p.a.
