South Korea: Media breakfast on scaling up climate action

The Ambassador of Finland to the Republic of Korea, the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra and the Global Green Growth Institute warmly welcome you to a media breakfast on scaling up climate action. We will provide you with inspiring information about novel research and an opportunity to interview international experts.

After the historic Paris climate conference, countries will now focus on implementing their climate pledges. Moreover, countries will consider if and how they could move beyond their current commitments.

A groundbreaking international study, Green to Scale, analysed scaling up existing low-carbon solutions – and the costs and benefits of doing so. The results will be presented for the first time in Korea at the media breakfast. We will also discuss how the results can help Korea seize the potential in green growth. In addition, Mahua Acharya of the Seoul-based international organisation the Global Green Growth Institute will present GGGI’s progress in developing policy and financial instruments that are helping developing countries achieve green growth.

Venue: The Residence of the Finnish Ambassador.
Date: Wednesday 27 April.
Time: 8:30–9:30 a.m., buffet breakfast served from 8:00 a.m.
Speakers: Mahua Acharya, Assistant Director-General and Head of the Knowledge Solutions Division
at the Global Green Growth Institute; Oras Tynkkynen, Senior Advisor, Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra.
