Anni Huhtala

Anni Huhtala is an expert in environmental economics and policy.

Director General of VATT Institute for Economic Research, an expert unit focusing on public economics issues including environment, energy and climate policy, she is also adjunct professor of environmental and resource economics at Aalto University. Her PhD thesis was on the environmental economic effects of recycling, and in her research she has evaluated environmental policy and instruments. She has been involved in the international development of environmental accounting and welfare measurement as well, and been a member of the European Academies Science Advisory Council (EASAC) Working Group that issued a commentary on circular economy for the European Commission.
