Izabella Teixeira

Izabella Teixeira is an expert in environmental management, impact assessment and licensing.

Texeira is Brazil’s former Minister of the Environment who led Brazil’s delegation at the negotiations of the Paris Agreement on climate change in 2015. Teixeira’s guidance and leadership was also instrumental in the approval of the new Forest Code in the National Congress in 2012, for achieving the lowest historical deforestation rates in the Amazon, and consequently the largest global contribution for emissions reduction. In 2013 Teixeira received the United Nations’ Environment Programme’s Champions of the Earth award for Policy Leadership.
