Stephen F. Lintner

Independent Advisor on Environmental and Social Sustainability

Stephen F. Lintner is a seasoned expert on environmental and social sustainability.

He is an independent advisor to governments and development organizations and has over 40 years of worldwide experience in environment, infrastructure and water resources management, including the development of policies and procedures, design of strategies and programs, and planning and implementation of projects. During his long tenure at the World Bank, Lintner held leadership roles in a range of environmental and social policy, strategy, technical and capacity building activities at the global, regional and national levels. He served as the Bank’s Senior Technical Advisor, prior to which he was Advisor for Freshwater, Coastal and Marine Resources Management. He is the former President of the International Association for Impact Assessment (IAIA).
