Takashi Shimazu deals with environmental issues such as creation, conversion and storage of energy and electrification and weight-reduction of automobiles.
He leads one of research divisions in Toyota Central R&D Labs., Inc. (TCRDL), established by Toyota group companies. He greatly contributed to the research project on energy management, especially on heat management, and then became a director of TCRDL. He currently leads many research projects. He is also a member of the screening panel of “The Research Program to Support Innovative Hydrogen Energy Solutions Initiated” from Toyota Mobility Foundation, and the chairman of the committee of “Industrial Users Society for Neutron Application”.
