Takuya Kitatsuji

Takuya Kitatsuji is in charge of the environmental administration of an entire city.

As the Director General of the Osaka City Environment Bureau, his work includes overseeing environmental conservation, waste management and energy policies. He has previously worked for the Port and Harbor Bureau, the Finance Bureau and the Social Welfare Bureau of the Osaka City Government. He is currently working on updating Osaka City’s Basic Environmental Plan, as well as progressing activities related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Osaka City, and furthering international environmental cooperation.
