Sitra’s Impact Accelerator helps companies and organisations become more influential agents of social change.
The Impact Accelerator encourages companies and for-profit organisations to develop the social impact of their services and their investment and funding capabilities.
What do we do?
The fourth Impact Accelerator was held from March to May 2017. Ten participants were selected, all of which are developing solutions for the following challenges:
- the well-being of children and families with children;
- self-care for senior citizens;
- preventing the marginalisation of young people;
- the integration of immigrants into Finnish society.
The accelerator is an intensive training and mentoring programme, which lasts approximately two months. In addition to the training, a personal study plan and path will be drawn up for each participant. The focal points of training and mentoring are related to the modelling and measurement of impact chains, the building of performance-based earnings logic and strengthening funding and investment capabilities.
Who participates?
Participants were selected based on their applications. Partners selected by Sitra were responsible for the training content and mentoring. Those responsible for overseeing the accelerator in the spring of 2017 were the expert and training organisations Impactor Consulting Osk and Etula Group. The Impact Accelerator also helped to create new channels between participants and investors, such as that created through close co-operation with the Finnish Business Angels Network (FiBAN).
Some 30 companies and organisations have participated in the previous programmes.
