Choudhury Rudra Charan Mohanty

C.R.C. Mohanty aims to make circular economy global in his work.

His main responsibilities at UNCRD include implementation of three major initiatives and processes at regional and global levels: promotion of Environmentally Sustainable Transport (EST) in Asia, promotion of 3R, resource efficiency and circular economy in Asia and the Pacific, and International Partnership on Expanding Waste Management Service of Local Authorities (IPLA) – an SDG partnership. Under these initiatives, he played a significant role in establishing two high level policy forums in Asia and the Pacific. Prior to his UNCRD/UN DESA assignment, he worked in the United Nations Environment Programme/Regional Resource Centre for Asia and the Pacific.
