Luc Gnacadja has a passion for sustainable land development.
As the architect of the concept of “Land Degradation Neutrality”, he was a guiding voice for sustainable land development in the negotiations leading up to Rio+20. His personal effort to promote the adoption of an international commitment to a “land-degradation neutral world” in “The Future We Want” was deemed a critical step forward. He is an architect by profession, a former minister of environment of the republic of Benin and the immediate past Executive Secretary of the United Nations Convention on Desertification (UNCCD).
