Ethical principles

Five Tips for Making Use of Principles

  1. Plan: Use ethical principles as a guiding framework right from the start when planning your futures work. How could you incorporate them in practice? What kind of goals could you set for expanding futures literacy?
  2. Evaluate: Reflect on and evaluate your completed futures work in light of the ethical principles. What worked well, and what should be done differently next time? Document the lessons learned for future reference.
  3. Discuss: Organise a shared learning session about ethical principles within your organisation. What thoughts do the principles evoke, and how could you integrate them into your activities?
  4. Communicate: Use ethical principles to justify the choices made in facilitating futures work and communicate to participants that sharing futures literacy is important to you and something you wish to promote.
  5. Invite others: Share information about the ethical principles with your partners and encourage them to take the principles into account as well.
